Most zombie novels are set in the United States. The same scenery every time: American suburbs, interstates, shopping malls, gun cabinets. LYRV-27 flips the formula. The outbreak hits a European city — with public transport, high population density, apartment blocks, and a civilian population with no access to firearms.
The result is an apocalypse that feels terrifyingly plausible. The German army (Bundeswehr) deploys onto the streets. Hospitals collapse. The state tries to hold the line — and fails. The reader follows an ordinary student straight into the chaos, in first person, in present tense.
